This compact 4-day tour from Agadir is a journey of incredible contrasts. You'll travel along the wild Atlantic coastline to historic Legzira beach, venture into the heart of the Anti-Atlas mountains to see the blue painted rocks of Tafraoute, and get a taste of the desert with an overnight stay near the dunes of Erg Chigaga's smaller sibling. It's a fantastic short break that packs in a huge variety of southern Morocco's unique landscapes.
Itinerary
Day 1: Agadir -> Tiznit -> Legzira Beach
- Depart Agadir and travel south along the coast.
- Stop in Tiznit, a town known for its silver jewelry and ancient city walls.
- Arrive at Legzira Beach, famous for its incredible natural stone arches. Enjoy the sunset and spend the night in a hotel by the sea.
Day 2: Legzira -> Tafraoute & The Painted Rocks
- Travel inland into the stunning landscapes of the Anti-Atlas mountains.
- Arrive in Tafraoute, a town nestled amongst dramatic granite formations.
- In the afternoon, explore the famous "Painted Rocks," an art installation by Belgian artist Jean Verame, and the Napoleon's Hat rock formation.
Day 3: Tafraoute -> Foum Zguid -> Mini-Sahara Camp
- Journey east towards the desert, passing through Berber villages and vast, arid plains.
- Stop in Foum Zguid, a classic desert outpost town.
- Continue off-road to a desert camp near the "mini-Sahara" dunes. Enjoy a sunset camel ride and a night under the stars.
Day 4: Mini-Sahara -> Taroudant -> Agadir
- After a desert sunrise, begin the journey back towards Agadir.
- Travel via the historic walled city of Taroudant, often called "Little Marrakech." Explore its ramparts and souks.
- Arrive back in Agadir in the late afternoon.
